As Australia’s longest established ballet company and Western Australia’s leading dance organisation, West Australian Ballet has presented excellence and innovation in classical and modern ballet since 1952.
Founded by Madame Kira Bousloff of the Ballets Russes, with a history of regional, national and international touring, West Australian Ballet aims to move its audiences by presenting the human story in a super-human way.
Each year, 50,000 people attend a performance and 10,000 young people across Western Australia participate in the Company’s acclaimed education programmes. West Australian Ballet maintains an impressive international profile, with 37 dancers from eleven different countries and regular commissions from world-class choreographers, teachers, designers and composers from the major arts capitals of the world – including Paris, Prague, Stuttgart, Milan, New York, Amsterdam, Melbourne and Sydney in recent years.
