1. GRAND HISTORICAL
Duration 2 hours

Ivan King OAM, His Majesty’s Theatre’s Theatre Historian, takes you on a gossipy and anecdotal wander through ten decades of colourful show-business history, viewing front-of-house, auditorium, stage, and backstage spaces. You will also be able to view memorabilia from the Museum of Performing Arts collection. The tour commences in the ground floor foyer.
Note: Suitable for able walkers (staircases need to be navigated)
2. BEHIND THE SCENES
Duration 1.5 hours
Adults $20
Concessions $15

Visit the auditorium, stage, and backstage spaces of His Majesty’s Theatre! You will also be able to view memorabilia from the Museum of Performing Arts collection.
The tour is limited to 25 people, with a duration of approx. 1.5 hours. It commences in the ground floor foyer and is suitable for able walkers as staircases need to be navigated.

Pull back the curtains and see how the magic of performance is bought to life behind the scenes!
Join our techs as they take you backstage for an all-access technical tour of our historical theatre.
Visit the orchestra pit, explore the staging technology and get some hands-on time with lighting and sound equipment - you may even get the chance to shine in the spotlight centre stage!
As this tour is interactive, spaces are limited to just 10 participants on each tour. Multiple levels of the building are visited during the tour, not all of which are accessible by lift, so this tour is only available for able walkers.
4. SCHOOL EDUCATION
Duration 1 – 1.5 hours
Cost $100
10-30 students includes 1 teacher - extra adults at $10 each
Tour commences in the Stalls foyer and views the auditorium and backstage areas of the Theatre and Museum of Performing Arts exhibition.
5. HISTORICAL ACCESS TOURS
For adults and students with disabilities
Duration 30 - 45mins
Cost $5 each
for 6 to 12 pax
Tour views the main Auditorium, stage, dressing rooms and Museum of Performing Arts Exhibition in Downstairs at the Maj via foyer stairs or access lift as required.
The Friends of the Theatre
Volunteers operate the information desks in the front foyer from Monday to Friday between 10:30am and 3:30pm.
Patrons and visitors can take a 15-30min tour at $5 per person to hear the history, view the auditorium, foyers and Museum of Performing Arts memorabilia.
Our Friendly volunteers can also provide a free tour of the foyers and the history of the theatre.
All tours are subject to availability, due to rehearsals and bookings on stage.
Bookings essential for all group tours.
Tour funds are directed into the Museum of Performing Arts to assist in preserving this vital arts heritage facility for the people of Western Australia.
