Facilities for people with disability
His Majesty's Theatre endeavours to accommodate patrons with disability whenever possible.
We recommend that all patrons with special requirements state their needs at the time of booking tickets. To book tickets you can book at the venue box office or call (08) 6212 9292.
Our usual facilities include:
- Accessibility access to the stalls (ground level) auditorium
- Accessible toilet on the ground level
- Universal Accessible toilet on the basement level
- Accessibility access to Downstairs at The Maj and basement level bar
- A hearing induction loop throughout most of the auditorium
- Audio Description Service for some performances
- Auslan interpretation for some performances
An induction loop system for deaf and hearing impaired patrons, and an Audio Description service for vision impaired patrons are offered for certain performances.
Hearing loop
There is a hearing loop installed in the box office, Main Auditorium and Dress Circle Bar of His Majesty's Theatre. Once a telecoil switch on a hearing aid is turned on in the auditorium it will automatically pick up the signal.
If you experience any issues using the hearing loop, please speak to the Front of House Manger who will be able to assist you.

Audio description and Tactile Tours
Tickets for Audio Described performances are available through the venue box office on 9265 0904 or hmtbox@ptt.wa.gov.au. It is essential patrons advise the booking agent that the audio described service will be required at time of booking. Tickets for the service can be purchased up to three working days prior to the performance, after which audio described seats which have not been sold will be released to the general public. Patrons are requested to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the performance in order to collect their equipment and be comfortably seated until the audio description commences.
The purpose of tactile tours is to give patrons an understanding of the costumes and set. Patrons will be escorted onto the set so they get an idea of the dimensions and will be able to touch the props being used on stage, and where the entrances and exits are so they know where characters enter. Patrons will also be able to handle the costumes being worn by the actors. While the tour is taking place the audio describers will describe where the different props are located on stage and what colour, shape and material has been used for the costumes.

We regularly email updates about the Audio Description service to our database of patrons who utilize the service, and we also keep in touch through a closed Facebook group.

Auslan
Auslan is the majority sign language of the Australian Deaf community. Auslan interpretation is available for select performances. Seats for Auslan interpreted performances can be booked online. Type in AUSLAN in the promo code box in the top right hand section of the booking page, then select a section on the seat map. The seats that are highlighted are our recommended seats for the best view point of the Auslan interpreter.
Captioning
Captioning is available for selected performances. Please ask your ticket seller or check the website to ensure you purchase tickets to a captioned performance if you wish to use this service. Captioning devices are subject to availability. Alternatively the Go Theatrical Captioning App, on which the captions can be viewed during the show, can be downloaded onto your own Apple or android device.
