New Director, Technical Services for Perth Theatre Trust

The Perth Theatre Trust (PTT) is proud to announce the appointment of Mr Mark Howett to the newly created role of Director, Technical Services.

A proud Noongar man, originally from Busselton Western Australia, Mark has been working in theatre both locally and internationally for over forty years.

A multi-Greenroom and Helpmann Award winner, Mark has worked as a lighting, video, set designer, artistic director and production manager, on over five hundred national and international productions.

His career has included lecturing in technical production in schools across Australia and Germany. He has worked across theatre, film, dance and opera and his experience in the administrative and artistic arms of the performing arts have given him an expansive understanding of venues operations in Australia and overseas.

He has worked on productions at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Opera Australia, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music, including Cloudstreet for Company B and Black Swan State Theatre Company.

PTT General Manager Duncan Ord said he was pleased to welcome Mark to the Trust and was looking forward to working closely with him.

“We are very pleased to have someone of Mark’s calibre joining the team at Perth Theatre Trust and the expertise he will bring.

“Mark will add to our capacity to plan for the redevelopment of the Perth Concert Hall and His Majesty’s Theatre, recently announced by the State Government,” he said.

Mark said this was a great opportunity and he was excited to begin this new phase of his career back in his home town.
