Morning Melodies 2017 Concert Series Announced

In 2017 Morning Melodies will feature a musical tribute to 1950s/60s rock and roll and the much loved ‘Snake Pit’, where the young people of Perth flocked in their hundreds to eat hamburgers and pizza and listen to what their shocked parents called ‘the devil’s music’.

The Snake Pit will be a performed on stage for the very first time as part of the Morning Melodies 2017 Concert Series at His Majesty’s Theatre.

Presented by the Perth Theatre Trust, the morning concert series will also feature acclaimed vocal artist and actress, Rachael Beck, and talented performers from the Western Australian Youth Orchestra and West Australian Opera.

This Girl featuring Rachael Beck

Join Rachael on an intimate journey of song, story and laughs as she dissects her career and life thus far. Through songs from shows such as Cabaret, Les Misérables and A Little Night Music, to rock anthems penned by artists such as Bob Dylan, Kate Bush and KD Lang, Rachael will leave you with your heart on your sleeve.

West Australian Opera celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2017. Join stars of The Merry Widow, Alexander Lewis and Taryn Fiebig for a morning of delightful operettas performed on the brand new set of The Merry Widow.

The Snake Pit from the creators of The Catalinas of Crawley Bay

Step back in time to ‘The Snake Pit’ at Scarborough Beach, the birthplace of rock and roll music in Western Australia in the late 1950s. Hound Dog, Blue Suede Shoes, Love Me Tender, Johnny B. Goode, Tutti Frutti, Dream Lover and See You Later Alligator are just some of the songs you will hear at this memorable tribute show.

WAYO Christmas Spectacular featuring Western Australian Youth Orchestra 

Celebrate the Christmas season with a showcase of Yuletide favourites performed by the Western Australian Youth Orchestra and some special guest vocalists. Including highlights from The Nutcracker, O Holy Night and Sleigh Ride, it promises to be the perfect send off for Morning Melodies 2017.

A special Early bird four performance pass for $80* will be available from 11am on 14 December 2016 until 1 February 2017.
