THE COURTYARD CLUB 2019. FREE, LIVE LOCAL MUSIC.
State Theatre Centre of WA and RTRFM are excited to announce the return of The Courtyard Club, a free 8-week concert series taking place every Friday evening from 1 November to 20 December in the State Theatre Centre Courtyard.
RTRFM are pleased to be teaming up with The State Theatre Centre of WA for the sixth year to bring live, local music into the heart of Northbridge at the iconic State Theatre Centre Courtyard. The Courtyard Club has become the perfect place to start your weekend with friends while experiencing live radio and local music for free. This year, we have more live music with two bands playing each Friday as you wind down from a hard week at work.
It all kicks off on Friday November 1 as part of WAMFest, as we team up with WAM to present three amazing local artists. From 5pm catch the sounds of Grace Sanders, Your Girl Pho and Adrian Dzvuke before the team from Soulsides go live with an extended DJ set.
On 8th of November we are teaming up with the Perth International Jazz Festival again for a free jazz concert under the stars. Alongside Saturday Jazz’s Warren Kimble you can see and hear the live sounds of the Tim Voutas Quartet.
Throughout the series you can enjoy the eclectic and magical sounds of Chelsea Cullen, trip hop magicians Trisk, energetic upstarts Tether, neo soul wunders Demon Days, the jangle pop of Thee Gold Blooms, fuzzed-up gogo rock n roll of Catzilla, the ambient wonder of the Lana Rothie Quartet, the legendary and otherworldly harmonies of Simone & Girlfunkle.
We then close the series out with a celebration of five years of Cloud Waves, RTRFM’s wavy, underground hip hop show. The team will present their program alongside live sounds of Otiuh and WA’s queen of hip hop Hyclass. Then stick around for an end of year party to remember as DJ Aslan, Sleepyhead, Nora Zion, Super Flog, Cee and Hyclass DJ into the night.
Each live set will be followed DJ’s from some of your favourite RTRFM presenters, featuring Will Bixler (Out to Lunch), James Allen (Giant Steps), DJ Salty (All City), Aiofe Daly (Rock Rattle ‘n’ Roll) and Libby Noble.
The Courtyard Club is an all-ages event with licensed bar and food options, making it the perfect meeting place to celebrate the end of the working week.
