Maali is the traditional name given to the black swan by the Nyoongar people. Maali Festival is a celebration that will fill the State Theatre Centre with First Nations culture and arts. Welcome to this complete take-over on the land of the Whadjuk Nyoongar people.

Taking place during NAIDOC Week, Maali Festival is curated by Black Swan’s Resident Artists Chloe Ogilvie (Yamatji Nhanda) and Ian Michael (Nyoongar). A multi-disciplinary arts festival, with a program of FREE events across theatre, music, dance, film, exhibitions, markets plus family-friendly events and panel discussions.
